About operation ALL4-JUSTICE-4ALL

After seven months of small-scale actions on the Dutch beaches, the Hogerhand People's Front is now organizing an extensive operation which should put the ICC back into the spotlight. As people from all over the world are taking part, the operation is aptly named ALL4-JUSTICE-4ALL.

Stage 1: Building a defensive wall

In the two weeks leading up to the inaugural ceremony, volunteers of the Hogerhand People's Front will build a 2000 foot defensive wall on the beach of The Hague. This wall will consist of almost 90 bulwarks — one for every country that is a ratified Member State of the ICC.

Each bulwark is constituted of a pile of sandbags behind which a couple of 'dummy-soldiers' are standing guard. The dummies' faces are of real people. Citizens of the 89 Member States send digital portraits of themselves to the website for just this purpose. Each nation's bulwark will of course fly its own flag.

The construction starts on February 26 and will take about two weeks to complete.

Stage 2: Beach ceremony March 11

On the day of the inaugural ceremony the beach of The Hague will offer the impressive sight of a 2000 foot defensive wall, guarded by an international civil army of dummy-soldiers. This will be the dramatic backdrop for the final act: the construction of the American bulwark.

This last bulwark will be built by American citizens who feel that their country should uphold its longstanding commitment to the development of international justice. As their present government seems determined to do away with the entire concept of international law, these citizens fear how their country is slowly drifting away from the world community and moving towards a treacherously self-righteous seclusion. To illustrate this perilous position, the bulwark of the US will stand all by itself — right in front of the defensive wall.

When finally the Stars and Stripes are being raised, the international media are thus served up with a profound symbolic image: delegations of 89 nations that are literary backing up the Americans who dare to stand up in defense of the ICC. The joint effort to create this image, demonstrates how international justice is a common interest of the world community — a community that clearly wishes to include the USA.

People all over the world can join the operation - right from behind your desk!
